Wiley Home Phone Service
Can I call all phone numbers?
Yes! Wiley phones can call any number. They can call other landline phones, cell phones, or take-out...whatever!
Your phone arrives and by default will allow calls from anyone. You may toggle Approved-Only on & set the numbers you'd like to allow in the Parent Portal.
Can I call Tin Can or other home phone numbers?
Yes!
You can call Tin Can or any other home phone number. With Tin Can just make sure you talk to the parents of the family to ensure you are on their Approved Calling List.
What's the difference between Wiley & other internet based home phones?
Our mission be the best WiFi home phone for kids on the market, so childhood doesn't happen through a screen.
Main Differences Wiley was designed for kids of all ages - young and old. Wiley is flexible to cater to you & your kids' needs.
How we stack up:
- Tin Can locks you into approved-contacts-only with no off switch. Wiley gives you that same mode and lets you toggle it off, so the phone grows with your kid instead of boxing them in.
- Ooma doesn't offer a WiFi-based phone.
- Everyone Else: WiFi calling has been around for 20+ years, but almost nobody designed it with kids in mind. We did.
Built for the whole family. Wiley works for kids as early as 3 or 4 years old...as long as they can press a speed dial button to call grandma.
Younger kids learn phone literacy, tweens earn independence, & teens that still need a way to call & ask somebody out on a date.
Adults get freedom to still stay connected to the world but have an option to stay connected without the doomscrolling.
What if my home loses power or WiFi, can Wiley still make calls?
That is a really valid concern that we and many parents have. Our mission is to safely connect kids & families & have set out to make that a reality.
We researched this concern early on & found in our research that on average a home in the United States has 99.9% connectivity to power & internet. (On average homes experience power outages 7 hours/year & WiFi outages 9 hours/year.)
Every area is different so your experience may be more or less than that. The thing we also want to stress is that with outages there are options. Just like everything in life it really depends on your specific needs & preparedness level.
For instance some people have put together backup options for power like generators or backup connectivity like a secondary connection point like Starlink (satellite) or WiFi home hotspot like Verizon Fios (cellular). Hopefully there are other communications in the home.
At the end of the day we want to give parents options. We want to give families a simple & fun way to connect with each other without having the pressure of getting kids a smartphone too early.

Can I call 911?
Yes! This was an important feature for us and a big reason we don't offer a free plan like some other options. The free plans often only include calling from one branded device to another. Which means mom's cellphone and 911 are off the table. That didn't sit well with us. We want this to be as safe as it is fun, and as fun as possible!
Wiley Home Phone service comes with:

Assign a physical address to your phone number so if 911 is dialed, first responders automatically know where to go — even if your child can’t say the address.
Instant Emergency Alerts
You and a neighbor can even instantly get an alert when 911 is dialed from Wiley so if you aren’t home you’ll know something serious is happening & can take action.

Does Wiley Home Phone service have contracts?
Nope, no contracts!
Can I have multiple Wiley phones in my home?
Yes!
You can add an unlimited amount of phones under the same roof that will all share the same number.
Under each household account you'll get one primary phone number. Each additional phone will cost $3.50/mo per additional phone.
How It Works
When you first create an account with Wiley and set up your first phone you simply add whatever other phone(s) you'd like to your household in our web portal: D.
All phones will all share the same voicemail inbox & ring together :D
Can I bring my own phone & use Wiley Home Phone service?
Yes!
We’ll send you the component you’ll need to connect your own phone right into your home internet router.
Any working phone, analog or digital, even 100 years old, will work!
Note You cannot use other VoIP phones with our service.

Can you do 3-way calls?
Yes! Up to 3 people can join any call.
Does Wiley Home Phone work with satellite internet services like Starlink & Cellular internet services like Verizon Fios?
Yes!
The only requirement is that you have access to an Ethernet port. Our phones use WiFi for calling although the initial phone setup is done first via ethernet cable.
Starlink If you use Starlink but don't have the Ethernet add-on component just message us at hello@wileyphone.com and we'll ship your phone with your WiFi already set up in the phone.
The setup is simple & we'll provide you with everything you need.
I want to move to Wiley from my current or existing service, can I keep my number?
Yes! We can port over your number for a small one time fee. Just make sure you don't cancel your current plan until we have successfully ported your number over.
One month free service, what's the catch?
Well...the catch is you'll probably love it so much you'll just keep it. ;)
Just kidding, no catch! All preorders get 1 month free service & afterwards pay monthly + no contracts.
Do I need a promo code for the first free month?
No you don't! Your first month is automatically included with your Wiley Home Phone subscription.
Can I make international calls?
At the moment, no. We'll release international call abilities down the line. We're unsure when that can be at the moment but it's on the roadmap.
Home Phone Devices
Can I use Ethernet instead of WiFi?
Yes!
All our devices come with Ethernet compatibility. Wiley Buddy and Wiley Classic have WiFi compatibility as well.
Do I need a telephone line?
Nope!
Telephone lines are not used with any of Wiley's phones. Service is all over your home internet.
Is it a real phone?
Yes! This is not an app - you just pick up the handset & call.
Wall mountable?
Yes both phones can mount to a wall.
What's different between the Wiley WiFi Home Phones?
Shipping Information
When will my order ship?
Orders are processed as quickly as possible.
During peak periods, orders may take up to 7 working days from the estimated ship date to be dispatched. Once shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information.
Do you ship worldwide?
We ship to the USA. Wiley is currently not offering home phone service in other countries at the moment.
How much is shipping?
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the shipping address location and selected service.
Why haven't I received my order?
If your tracking information indicates that your order has been delivered but you have not received it, please check with your carrier or contact hello@wileyphone.com for assistance.
Payment
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, and other payment options may show up in your cart.
Is my payment secure?
All transactions are secured and encrypted. We do not store payment information.
Returns
Can I return my order?
Returns are accepted within 15 days after delivery. Items must be in their original condition, unused, in the Wiley box, and with all equipment returned.
Access Wiley's self-serve Return Portal.
Can I exchange for a different phone?
Exchanges for the same item can be facilitated via our Returns Portal.
Is there a return fee?
Return shipping costs are free.
I received a damaged or wrong item, what now?
If you received an incorrect or defective item, please contact hello@wileyphone.com with your order number and a photo of the issue.
